Chicago Clean Energy
Chicago Clean Energy is a $3 billion investment in green technology on the Southeast side of Chicago. We will build a state-of-the-art facility to produce substitute natural gas with a clean technology.

We will create thousands of jobs across Illinois, remediate a contaminated property in the neighborhood and drive local economic development.

The location at 115th Street and Burley Avenue is the ideal site for the Chicago Clean Energy project. It is strategically located on the Calumet River and on a rail line, which will allow the project to minimize truck traffic. It is 4.5 miles from the Chicago City Gate, the main regional pipeline for natural gas. The site is already zoned for heavy industry, and makes use of tens of millions of dollars in infrastructure left behind by the steel industry.

Chicago Clean Energy is a significant step forward for clean energy, jobs, economic development and consumer savings. Clean coal technologies will be a major contributor to the energy of the future for Illinois, and Chicago Clean Energy will be the leader in that movement.
